SIDNEY – A 42-year-old city man was sentenced to 45 months in prison for his sexual obscenity conviction in Shelby County Common Pleas Court recently.

Jason Allen Fahnestock, 42, 515 S. Highland Ave., was found guilty on three counts of illegal use of nudity oriented material or performance. He was ordered to serve 15 months on each count to be served consecutively with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction by Judge James Stevenson.

Upon his release, will also be required to register as a Tier II sex offender every 180 days.

In 2011, Fahnestock was convicted on two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material, which factored into the sentencing, according to court records. He was sentenced to 24 months in prison.

Those records also indicated that on Jan. 4 this year, Fahnestock entered the Sidney Police Department and told investigators that he had child pornography on his computer, and, of the previous conviction. He told officers he searched the Internet to obtain the images using his parents’ WIFI system at their home.

Fahnestock told officers he feared authorities would discover the log-on information and prosecute his parents for his actions. He agreed to a police search of the home where they found images of juvenile males.
