SIDNEY — Whitney Koehler, of Franklin, has joined the staff of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home in Sidney.

Koehler is a full-time prearrangement specialist and funeral director who will work with clients to plan their funerals in advance of their deaths.

“Whitney Koehler is a knowledgeable, caring professional,” said Erik Edwards, co-owner of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. “Too often, we see the added emotional stress a family goes through after a loss when there is no plan in place. They are overcome with grief and do not know what their loved one would have wanted. This is our way of helping families, so they don’t have to go through that kind of experience.”

“I’m very passionate about preplanning,” said Koehler. “I feel this is something every adult needs to do, especially if there are children involved. No one wants to think of leaving their kids behind without at least making some decisions about funeral plans and expenses. It’s a simple process. We discuss what you want, what you don’t want and go over all the options you may not have thought of. Then we write it all down. No matter your age, health, or wealth, this is something that your family will be glad you did.”

There is no charge for Koehler’s advance planning services.
