It’s Wacky Wednesday

Staff report

The Shelby Oaks Ladies Golf League met for their usual day of golf Wednesday, but it was quite a departure from normal.

It was “Wacky Wednesday” and the theme was “crazy hats and socks” (check out the photo).

There were 24 taking part, and they played the west course, going hole by hole using instructions that club pro Rob Fridley put together for them. There were many ways to either increase or decrease the scramble scores.

Finishing in first was the team of Jeanie Bosslet, Rita Brinkman and Carol Young with a 32.

Second place was a tie between two teams, both at 37.

One team included Anna DeMarcus, Nancy Walter and Ann Hubler. The other team included Karen Dickman, Joyce Wick and Kathy Kinsella.

Finishing fourth was the team of Judy Doll, Barb Rogers and LuAnn Fultz.

Following golf, the ladies enjoyed lunch served by The Spot Restaurant. They then voted on the craziest looking hat, socks and outfit.

Winning for craziest socks was LuAnn Fultz. Winning for craziest hat was Nancy Walter. And winning for craziest outfit (sock and hat combo) was Jeanie Bosslet.

Wednesday’s edition of the Shelby Oaks Ladies Golf League was “Wacky Wednesday,” and it was easy to tell from the way the players were dressed. At the conclusion of play, the ladies voted for the players who had the craziest looking hat, craziest looking socks, and craziest looking outfit. And these three were the winners. From the left are Nancy Walter for her hat, LuAnn Fultz for her socks and Jeanie Bosslet for her sock and hat combo.
