Lima, Ohio (June 28, 2017) – Rhodes State College is pleased to announce the results of the most recent Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam that is released through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The average score for Rhodes State graduates who took the test was in the 96th percentile. The national average for first-time test takers was 479 and Rhodes State group average was 599. National pass rate for 1st time test takers was 65% and Rhodes State score was 100%. This is the 4th straight year that Rhodes State has demonstrated a 100% pass rate.

The CMA (AAMA) credential designates a medical assistant who has achieved certification through the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). CMAs (AAMA) are graduates of an accredited medical assistant program. These programs require all students to demonstrate proficiency in hands-on skills as well as mastery of medical assisting knowledge and to complete a practicum of at least 160 hours in an outpatient setting.

Meeting this rigorous certification standard should assure area employers that our students are exceeding the quality standards for medical assisting.”
