SIDNEY — Jeff Raible, director of the Sidney Visitors Bureau, recently released promotional statistics for June.

The bureau’s website saw 1,515 unique users, 1,766 web sessions, and 5,961 page views in June. The Facebook page had 13,039 views.

The bureau organized and launched a social media contest on Facebook with the goal of adding followers and promoting Country Concert. A series of specific messages were published on Facebook from June 1-30. Those viewing them were encouraged to like and share. Doing so entered their names into a drawing to win two tickets to Country Concert. The drawing was in early July. Eighty-two Facebook followers were added.

An ad was placed in Civil War News magazine to promote the 2018 Living History Civil War reenactment being organized by the Shelby County Historical Society and city of Sidney for Sept. 15 and 16, 2018.

The Visitors Bureau signed a sponsorship agreement in support of the Great Miami Riverway, a mixed-use district of city waterfronts interconnected by extensive land and water trails along the Great Miami River corridor from Sidney to Hamilton. The mission of this organization is to increase use of recreational, historical and cultural assets; attract more visitors; support economic development; and strengthen river corridor neighborhoods. The city of Sidney and the Visitors Bureau believe that support for the coalition will ultimately help secure funding to connect the Sidney bike path to the trail in Miami County (Piqua) and enhance the opportunities for recreation activity on the Great Miami River.

The bureau produced and published a promotional advertorial with OhioTraveler.com highlighting numerous events taking place in and around Sidney during the month of July. Included was information about the Sidney fireworks display, Country Concert, Sidney Civic Band, Downtown Sidney BBQfest, CARSTAR Grand Prix of Sidney bocce ball tournament, the Great Sidney Farmers Market, Shelby County Fair, and the Backstage Block Party. In addition to being published on OhioTraveler.com’s eNewsletter, this advertorial will also be sent in the form of a press release to more than 1,000 newspaper, magazine, radio and television media outlets.
