Girls basketball: Minster remains No. 1 in Div. IV in state poll

Minster remains No. 1 in Division IV in the second Associated Press state poll. Versailles is No. 2 in Div. III, and New Bremen received votes in D-IV.

The Wildcats (12-1) suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday against Elyria Catholic in the Classic in the Country at Berlin Hiland. Minster trailed by 10 but had a chance to tie the game late in a 44-41 loss.

Versailles beat Marion Local last Thursday to improve to 4-1. The Tigers were ranked No. 2 in Div. III last week as well.

New Bremen fell out of the top 10 in Div. IV. The Cardinals, which were ranked No. 4 a week ago, lost by 16 points to Fort Recovery on Thursday to drop to 12-2. Fort Recovery is ranked No. 10 in Div. IV.

All Division I through IV polls are below, with win-loss record and total points (first-place votes in parentheses). A statewide panel of sports writers and broadcasters rate Ohio high school basketball teams each week.
