BOTKINS — The Botkins Board of Education approved the hiring of three substitute teachers and one driver’s education instructor during its regular monthly meeting,Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Sarah Williams, Caleb Post and Tom Wiseman were hired as substitute teachers at a rate of $90 per day. Ann Gerstner was hired as the driver’s education instructor on a fall supplemental contract.

In other action, the board approved the following upcoming overnight trips: Ohio FFA Camp, from June 25 to June 29; and FFA Washington Leadership Conference, dates to be determined.

The board also approved book fees for the 2018-2019 school year; accepted a donation of $2,000 from the Community Club and $500 from Janell and Joe Welker for scholarships; and approved the “then and now” purchase order of $3,362 for a maintenance invoice from Smith Boughan Inc, a commercial plumbing, heating and HVAC company.

The board entered into executive session to consider the employment, appointment, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official before adjourning the meeting.

The March regular board meeting will be held Thursday, March 15.
