A musical treat and a culinary feast is promised by the gentlemen of the Presbyterian Church at their supper to be given tomorrow evenings. Caterer Sexauer has chosen an efficient corps of assistants from among the men members of the congregation and allotted to each a certain tempting dish to prepare.

An arrangement has been made between the International Gas Co., of Toledo, which furnishes natural gas to Urbana, and the Miami Valley Gas and Fuel Co., which furnishes gas for Sidney whereby the two lines will be connected. Pipes will be laid along the Studevant Pike from the gas station on the Hardin Pike to the Urbana gas pipeline on the Russell Road one mile north. The arrangement is made for the convenience of both companies in the supply of gas to both cities in case of an accident.

M.B. McKee was elected president when members of the Sidney Kiwanis Club named officers for the next year at their meeting yesterday noon. Dr. A.W. Hobby was named first vice president; Cable Wagner, second vice president; Paul Kemper, treasurer; with Emerson Deam, Harry Faulkner, H.E. Bennett, L.M. Studevant, F.D. Christian, Prof. H.A. Hartman, J.A. Clem, and Howard Vertner named to the board of directors.

Deputy Inspector Montague, of state prohibition enforcement office; C.D. Zellers, of the anti-saloon league, accompanied by Chief of Police O’Leary, Officers Layman and Ed Welsh, and armed with search warrants, visited four places in the city yesterday afternoon and evening in search of contraband liquor. At three of the places liquor was found and charges have been filed. There was nothing found at the fourth place.

The office of the secretary of state in Columbus today announced that incorporation papers have been filed for C.D. Beck and Company, Inc. The incorporators are listed as Kathryn M. Beck, C.D. Beck, and Taylor Cummins, all of Sidney. The incorporation replaces a previously existing partnership. The company recently moved into its completely new factory building at the intersection of North Main Avenue and Russell Road.

ANNA – Winners of the annual Voice of Democracy speaking contest here were Rex Adkins, first place speaker and recipient of a $25 savings bond; Chris Koehler, second place winner who received a $10 cash award; and third place winner Margie Meyer who received $5.00 cash.

Miss Diane Boerger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boerger of Fort Loramie, has been chosen as the general chairman for the 1972 Ohio State University homecoming.

HOUSTON (AP) – The mother of two-time Lombardi Award winner Orlando Pace didn’t want her son playing football. Now that he has found unprecedented success in college, she thinks he’s ready for the step up to the pros. Pace became the first two-time winner of the award as the nation’s top lineman Thursday night.

Photo: Sidney Parks and Recreation Department workers fill up an outdoor skating rink with water. The rink has been installed in the parking lot of the Tawawa Softball Complex on Ohio 47. The rink is 100 feet by 200 feet in size and three inches deep. Parks and Recreation Director Robert New said it will provide a safer and larger skating area than the Roadside Park pond.
