Arrangements have been made for a game of football tomorrow afternoon at the ball grounds in East Sidney, between a team from the high school and one from the city. High school players are: Charles Royon, left end; Charles Good and Arthur Silver, left tackle. George Shaffer, left guard; Web Sterline, center; Hugh Hick, right guard; Ed Royon and Victor Dill, right tackle.; R. Wilson and H. Albers, right end.; Sam Marshall and Eugene Pence, halfbacks; Lawrence Anderson, full back, and T. Wilson and C. Gilmore, quarterbacks. The city team includes: Milt Herzstam, left end; Ben Sharp, left tackle; Frank Hussey, left guard.; Harley Apple, center; H. Beebe, right guard; Bob Vandegrift, right tackle; G.W. Henderson, right end; W.C. Rice and C.D. Rice, halfbacks, and Ward Arbuckle, quarterback.

The board of charities met last night and organized for the coming year by electing Mrs. B.W. Slusser, president; W.A. Graham, vice president; Miss Abbie Robb, secretary, and Mrs. J.H. Wagner, treasurer.

The musical extravaganza, “Miss Bob White,” presented at the high school auditorium last evening under the auspices of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity, was a decided success in every particular and entertainment of the highest class. The case included: Cecil Webster, Carol Clark, Mary Baughman, James Lytle, Dorothy Morrison, H.L. Bland, Dave Sheldon, Charles Benjamin, Mary Bess Christian, Annabel Thomas, Basil Mills, and Hugh McClelland.

F.D. Christian, V.E. Watkins, H.M. Faulkner, M.B. McKee, and Prof. B.O. Worrell were in Greenville yesterday to attend the luncheon meeting of the Greenville Kiwanis Club and to complete arrangements for the appearance of the Sidney charity concert in the near future.

Discussions looking to a new contract between Copeland Refrigeration Corporation and the United Electrical Workers CIO, were started today as the strike at the Copeland plant went into its 11th day with no change yet made in the demands of the union or agreement by the company. Two members of the U.S. Conciliation Service joined the negotiators for talks this morning.

Sonya Rozanne Watson was in Dayton yesterday to attend a meeting of the Ohio Music Teachers Association, where she gave a talk on the subject of music activities in the smaller communities. She used as her subject matter the Salon Artists Club and Apollo Singers program which are presented in Sidney under her direction.

NEW BREMEN – Village Administrator Frank McCune advised the village council at a meeting this week that the New Bremen residents will have cable television by mid-December.

First Lt. Harold R. Koch, commander of Sidney Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron 906 has named Larry R. Wilt, senior member, chairman of a committee to plan the unit’s participation in CAP’s 30th anniversary celebration in December.

Chad Sollmann led area football players in state wide recognition. The Lehman senior was once again first team All-State in Division VI. Teammate Andy Arnold was nominated for the second team offensive unit. Aaron Edwards received honorable mention status.
In a related matter, local sportscaster Dave Ross is continuing to work on his book about Sidney High School football history. He recently found a photo of the first Sidney High football team in 1896. Fans are looking forward to the book.
