NEW BREMEN — Jacob Larger (R-New Bremen), candidate for the open 84th House District, reported strong fundraising at his first campaign finance filing. Having announced his campaign in late November, Larger reported over $31,000 in total support.

“In the span of just 10 weeks, our campaign has attracted a broad coalition of supporters, including community leaders, elected officials and small business owners,” Larger said in a press release. “I am humbled by the outpouring of support these past few weeks, and excited to build momentum to be a representative that can achieve meaningful results for West Central Ohio.”

Larger’s strong financial support places him in the top five of first-time candidates for the state’s General Assembly, among Republicans reporting initial fundraising numbers on the 2021 Annual Report. But Larger stated the campaign will not rest on its laurels.

“Today’s finance filing reinforces that our campaign, and our message, are resonating with voters throughout the district, but this is only the first step. We will continue to work hard and meet with voters in Auglaize, Darke and Mercer counties to bring a proven, conservative voice to Columbus,” Larger said.

Larger has been on Village Council in New Bremen since 2017. In addition to his local government experience, Larger spent a number of years as an advocate for small business owners, with the National Federation of Independent Business/Ohio, as well as helped streamline Ohio’s workforce development programs as a staff member with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. Larger, who grew up in New Bremen, came back to the area in 2016, where he lives with his wife, Maria, and three daughters.

The 84th House District is a new district, recently drawn open by the Ohio Redistricting Commission. Formerly represented by Representative Susan Manchester, the 84th House District includes all of Mercer County, southern Auglaize County and northern Darke County.
