The Auglaize County 175th Anniversary Committee extends its congratulations to Alex and Lindsay Schmitt and baby boy Thomas Mosley Schmitt, their first child and the first Auglaize County baby born as of the anniversary year. Thomas was born 5:55 a.m. on Feb. 16, 2023, at Joint Township Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 20-inches long. Thomas and his parents live in St. Marys. The committee thanks First National Bank and its branches for providing the gift basket for Thomas. Thomas will also receive one of the commemorative silver coins from the anniversary.
