March 8

-7:09 a.m.: crime in progress. Danial Joseph Bancroft, 56, of Sidney, and Robert T. Hammer, 55, of Sidney, were arrested for breaking and entering.

March 7

-4:13 a.m.: crime in progress. Blake Dunn, 24, of Piqua, was arrested after a pursuit that spanned Miami and Shelby Counties and involved multiple law enforcement departments.

TUESDAY

-2:16 p.m.: property damage. Anna EMS and Jackson Center Police responded to property damage in the area of Main Street and Pike Street in Jackson Center.

-1:48 p.m.: threats. Jackson Center Police responded to threats in the 200 block of Jackson Street.

MONDAY

-5:02 p.m.: property damage. Anna Police responded to property damage in the 14000 block of state Route 119.

-3:35 p.m.: scam. Jackson Center Police received a scam report in the 500 block of North Main Street.

Crashes

No one was cited after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 27 at 2:56 p.m.

Alexander John Burd, 18, of Anna, was traveling eastbound on state Route 119 and Hayden Edward Roe, 19, of Anna, was on the side of the road with the vehicle’s hazard lights on. Burd said he was distracted by looking down at his speedometer and did not notice Roe on the side of the road, causing him to strike Roe’s vehicle’s left rear corner.

• Kody Lee Phillips, 26, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was cited with operation without reasonable control after the State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on March 27 at 10:51 a.m.

Phillips was driving a semi-truck traveling northbound on Interstate 75 when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch. Phillips’s vehicle was towed by Elmer’s Towing.

• Nicholas Lars Christensen, 24, of Troy, was cited with driving in marked lanes after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 27 at 5:31 a.m.

Christensen and John Blair, 61, of Vandalia, were traveling northbound on Interstate 75 in separate lanes. Christensen began to change lanes and struck Blair from behind.

• Kirk A. Barhorst, 48, of Minster, was cited with failure to control after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on March 12 at 9:45 p.m.

Barhorst was traveling northbound on state Route 66 when he went off the right side of the roadway and struck a fire hydrant. Barhorst’s vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

• James Paul Shanklin, 58, of Dayton, was cited with failure to yield from a stop sign after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 10 at 12:23 p.m.

Shanklin was traveling southbound on Lindsey Road approaching the intersection of Fair Road. Timothy Scott Bornman, 62, of Wapakoneta, was traveling southwest bound on Fair Road approaching the intersection. Shanklin stopped at the stop sign, then entered the intersection in front of Bornman, causing a collision.

• No one was cited after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 9 at 1:20 p.m.

Caroline Denise Lawrence, 59, of Lima, was traveling westbound on state Route 274 and Gregory A. Eads, 64, of Wapakoneta, was behind her. Lawrence slowed to turn into a private driveway on the left side of the roadway. Eads attempted to pass Lawrence on the left because he said she had her right turn signal on, which caused a collision and caused Lawrence to drive off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch.

Lawrence was taken by New Bremen EMS to the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys with possible injuries and her vehicle was towed by Mayse’s Towing.

• Julie A. Wright, 60, of Piqua, was cited with right of way when turning left after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 8 at 11:12 a.m.

Wright was traveling northbound on state Route 66 and Sara J. Kessler, 56, of Minster, was traveling southbound. Wright attempted to turn left into a private driveway in front of Kessler, causing a collision.

Kessler was taken by Fort Loramie EMS to the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys with suspected minor injuries and Wright had suspected minor injuries but was not evaluated or transported by EMS personnel. Wright’s and Kessler’s vehicles were towed by Meyer’s Towing.

• Tony Michael Brown, 29, of New Bremen, was cited with assured clear distance after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 7 at 3:48 p.m.

Angela Jane Baker, 43, of Wapakoneta, was traveling eastbound on state Route 274 and Brown was behind her. Baker slowed to make a left-hand turn onto state Route 29 and Brown failed to stop and rear-ended Baker.

Baker and her passenger were taken by New Bremen EMS to Kettering Health in Piqua with suspected minor injuries. Baker’s vehicle was towed by Kennedy’s Towing and Brown’s vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

-1:11 a.m. to 9:06 p.m.: medical. Crews responded to 10 calls.
