LIMA — Bryan Moss, painter, illustrator and comic book/graphic novel artist will be in Lima to host a summer camp at ArtSpace/Lima. The camp will feature this well-known artist in a masterclass setting.

Moss will work with each individual on the anime and manga tradition of illustration. Anime pushes the boundaries of the status quo with unique characters and stories. It also expands beyond reality as anime often showcases magic, Japanese tales and superpowers. Manga is an umbrella term for a wide variety of comic books and graphic novels originally produced and published in Japan. These two very popular styles will assist participants to fine-tune their artistic skills and develop a portfolio of new and exciting designs.

Artists will be involved with everything from comics to large scale drawings. Bryan’s comic books and animated characters have been featured around the world. He focuses on creating impact and camaraderie within the arts community. His first solo exhibition, “About Time: The Art of Bryan Moss” debuted at the Columbus Museum of Art in 2022.

Participants will also be exploring and learning the business and networking of comic books to create their own signature series.

Hours for the camp will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, June 5 through June 9, at ArtSpace/Lima, 65 Town Square. Cost of the camp is $100 and all materials will be supplied. To sign up for this unique camp, just call ArtSpace/Lima at 419-222-1721.
