Anna Council approves legislation

ANNA – The Anna Village Council adopted an ordinance and a resolution at a meeting on Sept. 12.

The ordinance authorized the mayor to enter into an electric right of way and easement with Dayton Power and Light Company, and the resolution authorized an application to the Ohio Public Works Commission for funding various street reconstruction projects in the village.

The council also approved the purchase of a 20-inch positive pressure ventilation fan with four batteries from Howell Rescue for $6,146, a bid of $6,200 to crack-seal and coat the walking path, and the combining of two lots on Camdyn Trail.

Administrator William Kessler recently completed the six-month evaluation for Public Works Employee Matt Hare and recommended a $3.50 raise in his wage from $22 per hour to $25.50 per hour, which council agreed. Kessler also hired Dakota Denney as a public works employee at $20 per hour and wants to remove all ads for public works employment, including the public works superintendent position, as he said there are plenty of staff to get the work done.

The council discussed matters at the park. There are approximately 72 camping spots at the park for the solar eclipse; a registration form will be generated and posted on the village website. For the rock snake that was previously proposed, the council said they would like to wait until improvements can be made at the park. A citizen proposed a book box and after discussion, it was approved to be placed near Town Hall due to vandalism at the park.

Another council meeting was held on Sept. 26 and the next council meeting will be held on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Village Hall’s council chambers.
