LIMA — The University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) will hold a two-day open house at the UNOH Event Center, 1450 N. Cable Road, Lima, on Friday, Oct. 27, and Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

In prior years, the open house was divided into two events, one for the College of Applied Technologies and one for the Colleges of Business, Health Professions, and Occupational Professions. This year, all colleges will be combined in one weekend to allow prospective students to explore everything UNOH has to offer from degree programs to clubs and extracurricular activities.

The open house will feature the Wendell Schick Scholarship Test for high school seniors in the following categories: accounting, agricultural equipment technology, automotive technology, agribusiness management, business administration, diesel technology, high-performance motorsports technology, HVAC/R technology, information technology, marketing, medical technology, and robotics and automation technology.

The winner of each category will receive a $20,000 to $40,000 scholarship. Second-place winners will earn a $5,000 scholarship; third place will receive a $4,000 scholarship; fourth place will receive a $3,000 scholarship; and fifth place will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Testing will be held throughout the day at various locations on campus and representatives will direct interested students to their appropriate testing areas. While the scholarship tests are only available to high school seniors, the open house is designed for anyone interested in attending UNOH.

Students, friends, and their families can tour the entire 200-acre campus throughout the two-day event. There will be opportunities to discuss financial aid, housing, scheduling, employment, and detailed curriculum information with department representatives. Classrooms and training equipment will be on display with opportunities to speak with instructors and current UNOH students about courses. Information will also be available for adults or non-traditional students to discuss unique educational options including 100% online courses or a mix of both online and on-campus classes.

The open house is open to the public. For more information, contact the Admissions Department at 419-998-3120 or in person at 1441 N. Cable Road in Lima.
