SIDNEY – Local Christian contemporary worship artist Tyler Philip Ratcliffe hopes to use his music to glorify God with his upbeat, fun, high-energy style of music.

In October Ratcliffe released his first single, “One Nation, One King,” on all major streaming services, such as Spotify, Amazon Music, and others. He said, “I focus on bringing more high-energy, catchy worship music because I feel like a lot of worship music is slow and repetitive. I want to provide an alternative for worship leaders who are looking for something more celebratory, because being a Christian is something we can celebrate.”

“One Nation, One King” is an anthem of unity for the church. The song is filled with celebration and hope for the future. Ratcliffe said, “My hope and purpose is that my music is used to glorify God and can point anyone who listens to it toward the Gospel.”

Ratcliffe’s second single, “Forevermore,” will be released on November 10. He expects to release another song every six weeks leading up to a full album release, consisting of 13 songs, in March 2024. While the singles involve Ratcliffe on acoustic guitar along with his vocals, the full album will include him on keyboard, drums, bass, shaker and background vocals as well.

Ratcliffe started playing music for his church, Sidney First Church of the Nazarene, about a year and a half ago. He uses his voice and guitar to lead worship for the youth group on Wednesday nights and helps with worship on Sunday mornings. He also part of the worship team at other church events. Every other month he and other musically inclined volunteers from the youth group lead a special worship night called Vespers. Information on Vespers can be found on Sidney First Church of the Nazarene’s Facebook page.

Ratcliffe can be found on instagram at TylerPhilipRatcliffe, and his music is available on all major streaming platforms.
