SIDNEY – Chow Hound Pet Supplies has a new dog groomer on staff. Aisha Brunke has been grooming dogs for almost four years and is excited to be offering her services in Sidney.

Brunke started grooming by working as a pet bather at PetSmart, then continued with additional training provided by PetSmart in addition to learning from experienced groomers in the pet salon. Even after leaving PetSmart she has continued to learn from other pet groomers in order to offer the best care to her canine clients and their owners.

“My favorite thing about being a groomer is that I love to work with dogs. After they are groomed they are happier and more excited and I love that. I also love when they are happy to greet me when they first come in,” Brunke said.

Appointments consist of talking about the haircut with the owner- which often depends on the type of dog; then each dog receives a full bath, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and tooth brushing, followed by a blowout and haircut. Most grooming appointments take a couple of hours to complete.

Chow Hound is located at 2244 W. Michigan St. in the Vandemark Center near WalMart. Grooming appointments are by appointment on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from noon to 8 p.m. Walk-in spots are available for nail clipping, tooth brushing, ear care or face trimming during those same hours.
