Crashes

No one was cited after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 28 at 4 a.m.

Derek Smith, 45, of Wapakoneta, was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 when he was rear-ended by an unknown vehicle, causing him to lose control, drive off the left side of the roadway and strike the median cable barrier. The unknown driver didn’t stop.

• No one was cited after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Jan. 22 at 4:40 p.m.

Alayna Ahlers, 21, of St. Henry, was traveling southbound on Hardin Wapakoneta Road when she went left of center, causing Mercedes Massie, 23, of Sidney, to swerve to the right while traveling northbound. Massie then ran off the left side of the roadway. It was snowing at the time of the crash. Massie’s vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

• Austin J. Thobe, 20, of Celina, was cited with operation without reasonable control after the State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on Jan. 19 at 5:22 p.m.

Thobe was traveling westbound on Botkins Road when he drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a mailbox and trees. It was snowing at the time of the crash. The vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing.

• Dieuverson Prophete, 33, of Springfield, was cited with operation without reasonable control after the State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on Jan. 19 at 4:16 a.m.

Prophete was traveling southbound on Interstate 75 when he lost control, drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, then traveled off the left side of the roadway. It was snowing at the time of the crash. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

-1:50 p.m.: threats. Deputies responded to threats in the 4000 block of state Route 29.

-8:14 a.m.: crash. Personnel responded to a property damage crash at mile marker 86 on Interstate 75.

-10:13 p.m.: crash. Deputies responded to a property damage crash in the 17000 block of Sharp Road.

-9:10 p.m.: crash. Personnel responded to a crash with injuries at mile marker 84 on Interstate 75.

-8:11 p.m.: crash. Deputies responded to a property damage crash in the 10000 block of Schenk Road.

-3 p.m.: shooting. Deputies responded to shooting in the 4000 block of Vermont Drive.

-1:05 p.m.: threats. Deputies responded to threats in the 17000 block of Sidney Freyburg Road.

-6:47 a.m.: pursuit. Deputies were involved in a pursuit at mile marker 108 on Interstate 75.

-10:41 p.m.: threats. Deputies responded to threats in the 16000 block of Dingman Slagle Road.

-2:59 p.m.: crash. Deputies responded to a property damage crash in the 12000 block of Meranda Road.

-1:48 p.m.: scam. Deputies received a scam report in the 5000 block of state Route 29.

-1:43 p.m.: suspicious vehicle. Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 16000 block of Wenger Road in Botkins.

-5:35 a.m.: vehicle in ditch. Deputies responded to a vehicle in a ditch in the 2000 block of West Russell Road.
