JACKSON CENTER — The Village of Jackson Center has revised their Construction Standards and Drawing Regulations. They were originally written by Choice One Engineering in May 2021. The changes have already taken effect back then, but the actual terms weren’t updated in the official documents until this ordinance was passed. All new homes and structures in Jackson Center were built in accordance to these changes since they were originally drafted back in 2021.

Ed Maxwell, Zoning Enforcement Professional, recapped the events that took place at the public hearing regarding J &S Lenhart Family Farm LLC on March 20th. The Lenhart family applied to turn two parcels of land in the village into an agricultural district. It was approved with a restriction on livestock and poultry production.

The village of Jackson Center sent mutual aid to those in the Lakeview/Russells Point area affected by the tornados on March 14. They sent over police and firefighters to help with rescue and clean-up efforts, along with utility workers, trucks, and other equipment to help with the relief efforts.

A discharged line at the water plant was replaced because of excessive corrosion/incrustation. Water plant workers are keeping an eye on the situation to make sure that it doesn’t become an emergency situation.

Advance Rehabilitation Technology has begun lining the manhole covers in Jackson Center to prevent leakage that could contaminate the water lines. So far, they have done over 20 manholes, with more coming up in the future.
