SIDNEY — The Sidney Noon Kiwanis Club has named Mindy Schmitmeyer its November 2015 Teen of the Month.

Schmitmeyer is a senior at Anna High School and ranks first in her class with a grade point average of 4.0.

She is the daughter of Gary and Kelly Schmitmeyer.

Her academic activities, honors, and awards include National Honor Society, Bookclub, FTA and special education mentor. Schmitmeyer was named student of the year her freshman, sophomore and junior years.

Among her extra-curricular and community activities, she volunteers at Dorothy Love, is a member of FCCLA, SADD and Eco-Warriors. She is active in the marching and pep bands, is a church server and Eucharistic minister. Schmitmeyer is also a member of the varsity cross county and basketball teams.

In the fall, she plans to attend Ball State University to study special education.
