VANDALIA — The Sidney Lady Jackets evened the score with Vandalia Tuesday with a 6-5 road win in Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division softball action.
The two teams played Monday, and Vandalia won. This time, Sidney built a 6-2 lead but had to hold on when Vandalia plated three in the bottom of the seventh.
Sidney is now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the league. Vandalia is also 1-1 and 2-2.
Grace Shell pitched the distance for Sidney and finished with nine strikeouts.
Summer Inman and Morgan Carey had two hits apiece for the Lady Jackets and Regan Carey had a hit and drove in two runs.
• Sidney’s junior varsity team won 10-7 to go to 3-0 on the season.

Lehman 11, Ridgemont 7
SIDNEY — Lehman trailed 7-2 after Ridgemont scored four times in the top of the fifth. But in the bottom of the inning, the Lady Cavs exploded for seven runs to take the lead for good and post an 11-7 victory over Ridgemont in Northwest Central Conference play at Lehman.
The win puts the Lady Cavs at 4-1 on the season.
Brogan McIver’s bat stayed hot as she had three more hits for the Lady Cavs. Grace Monnin had a single and a home run and Carly Edwards had two singles.

Bremen 5, Russia 1
RUSSIA — New Bremen plated five runs in the top of the fifth to erase a 1-0 deficit and hand the Russia Lady Raiders a 5-1 setback in non-league softball action Tuesday.
The loss left Russia at 3-2 on the year. Bremen is now 2-3.
Russia scored its run in the bottom of the first on a solo home run by Maria Herron. But that was all the Lady Raiders could manage.
New Bremen came up empty until the fifth, when the Lady Cards took advantage of four Russia errors to score five times.
Debbie Paul and Sophia Fox had two hits apiece for Bremen.
