SIDNEY — Sidney was no match for unbeaten Vandalia Butler in Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division baseball action Monday at the high school.

The Aviators scored seven times in the first two innings and went on to run-rule the Jackets 14-0.

Sidney is 0-1 in the North and 2-4 overall heading into a rematch at Vandalia today.

Sidney managed just four hits in the game, by four different hitters.

The Jackets committed five errors, leading to just four of the 14 Vandalia runs being earned.

Loramie 3, Russia 0

FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie got a one-hit pitching gem from Jared Middendorf in beating Russia 3-0 in an early-season battle between two teams expected to challenge for the County title.

The win put the Redskins at 3-2 overall and left the Raiders at 2-2.

Middendorf allowed just the one hit while striking out eight Raider hitters.

Russia’s Bryant McCarty blanked the Redskins over the first four innings, but Loramie got a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Drew Wehrman, Jacob Kitzmiller and Tanner Rosengarten all had two hits for Loramie, and Connor Rose had a double.

Anna 1, Riverside 1 (tie)

DEGRAFF — Riverside pushed a run across in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game up, and it was ended after that many innings because of the cold in non-league baseball action Monday in DeGraff.

The verdict left Anna at 2-0-1 and Riverside 2-1-1 heading into Tuesday games.

Both teams had just one hit in the game. Riverside tied the game in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Trey Long that plated Trey Lane.

Anna’s run came on a solo home run by Kain Luthman in the second.

Botkins 2, JC 0

JACKSON CENTER — Botkins got single runs in the first and sixth and that was enough to blank Jackson Center 2-0 in County baseball M0nday.

Alex Jutte went the distance for the Trojans, striking out nine and allowing just one hit, a double by Brady Wildermuth.

Jacob Francis and Wildermuth pitched for Jackson Center and struck out 15.

Spencer Heuker had a double for the Trojans.

Bremen 11, St. Marys 7

ST. MARYS — New Bremen trailed 6-3 after four innings Monday, but exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth to beat St. Marys 11-7 in non-league play.

The win put the Cards at 2-1 on the year. It was the first loss of the season for St. Marys, which is now 3-1.

For Bremen, Hays had two hits and drove in four runs, and Topp had two hits. Owen Leugers had a double.

Houston 14, Fairlawn 4

HOUSTON — Houston broke a 3-3 tie with two in the third, then scored nine times over the next two frames to beat Fairlawn in County play Tuesday, 14-4.

The win puts the Wildcats at 1-0 in the league and 3-2 overall. Fairlawn is 0-3, all in County play.

Noah Shoemaker led the Wildcats, going 3 for 4 with a double, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Howie Ludwig had two hits and scored twice. Isaiah Beaver had two hits, scored three times, drove in three and stole two bases, Dylan Hensley had a run, scored four times and stole two bases, and Kaleib Freistuhler had a hit and three RBIs.

RJ Morrison singled and doubled for Fairlawn, and also scored twice. Kyle Noble had two hits and Spencer Hina doubled.
