SIDNEY — The Shelby County Historical Society will host a program, “Intrepid Women of Shelby County,” at the Ross Historical Center, Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m.

Local historian Rich Wallace will trace the stories of the women who made a difference in this county for the many others who followed. The stories of Ida Haslup Goode, India Boyer, Farida Wiley, Sadie Rosenthal, Irene Jarfas and many others will be told. These ladies were leaders in their fields on a state and national level, as well as in Shelby County.

The program will mark the opening of the historical society’s latest exhibit, “Journey: Intrepid Women of Shelby County.” This extensive display of artifacts and exhibit items chronicles the legacy left by the female leaders of the community over the last century.
