Holloway Sportswear to close Sidney office

SIDNEY — Holloway Sportswear announced this week they will be closing their Sidney office.

The wholesale team and athletic wear company will keep their distribution center in Sidney.

Holloway is a part of Augusta Sportswear Group (ASG). In 2015, ASG made a decision to completely transition the operation of High Five Sportswear to Sidney.

This week the group decided to consolidate their Augusta, Holloway, and High Five Sportswear sales forces.

“This change is intended to simplify how we work with our customers and focus more on developing accelerated growth plans,” said Dave Elliott, CEO of ASG.

To support this change, ASG will be consolidating administrative operations in Augusta, Georgia, closing the Sidney, Ohio, office, and maintaining distribution centers in Augusta and Sidney.

While ASG, as a private company, doesn’t speak about how many employees they have at their locations, Elliott said, several people from the Sidney office were given opportunities in other parts of the company, and several were unfortunately laid-off.

The transition has started and will take place over about the next six months or so, Elliott said.

Holloway Sportswear was founded in Jackson Center in 1946. Holloway apparel is primarily sold through a national network of retailers and screen-printers. Holloway dealers typically embellish the apparel and sell it to a team or organization.
