LIMA — The Ohio State Beauty Academy will host a student talent showcase on Thursday, March 30, with the theme “Submerged! Sea the Beauty!”

This Avant-Garde showcase will feature hairstyles made from creatively capturing under the sea creatures. The showcase will take place at the UNOH Event Center with doors opening at 6 p.m. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. “Submerged! Sea the Beauty” will feature hairstyles, makeup applications, nail art, and costumes of creatures you would find under the sea. There are 70 students participating in this event, with each student randomly selecting the sea creature they would be creating.

Students started preparing for the event in the beginning of February and will be making final touches the day of the show. Students will be judged on creativity and execution by a panel of judges. Each student will be judged on the following criteria: creativity and uniqueness, degree of difficulty, technical skill, presentation/neatness and overall look. There will be a first through fourth place participant in each category. There will be an additional two categories including peer evaluation and People’s Choice. Winners will receive a certificate, medal, and bragging rights at OSBA.

The show is free and open to the public.
