LIMA — Rhodes State College will host the upcoming EyeCan! event on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. Eye Can! is designed to help blind and low vision individuals connect with community resources, along with enabling those who are sighted understand how they can support someone who is visually impaired.

Sighted guide training will be available to help someone with low vision navigate, with hands-on displays featuring braille writing, lighted magnifiers, and CCTV. Demonstrations will be held to help those who are sighted experience what it is like to be low vision in daily life, such as making change and arranging dice numerically by feel. A technology showcase will outline adaptive technology and resources for the blind and visually impaired communities. The Deaf Concert will start at 7 pm.

Eye Can! will take place in room 100 of the Life and Physical Sciences Building at Rhodes State College, 4240 Campus Drive, Lima.
