SHS netters fall to Milton

The Sidney High boys tennis team dropped a 5-0 verdict against West Milton in action Wednesday.

Chance Cheek played well at third singles, losing 7-6, 6-2.

On Tuesday, Sidney defeated Urbana 3-2.

Prem Dev won 6-4, 6-1 at first singles, Daichi Urata won 6-1, 6-1 at second singles and the first doubles team of Michael Ferre and Logan Searcey won 6-3, 6-4.

And in action Monday, Sidney lost 4-1 to Celina, the lone victory coming from Dev at first singles 6-2, 6-4.

Lehman

Lehman lost to Centerville Black on Monday 4-1.

Lehman’s win came from Griffin West at first singles 7-5, 6-0.

“Nice win by Griffin at first singles to stay undefeated on the season,” said Lehman coach Tim Ungericht. “We were competitive on all the other matches against the strongest school we will face this season.”

Lehman defeated Wapakoneta on Tuesday 3-2.

West won 6-2, 6-1 at first singles, Sam Ritze won 7-5, 6-2 at second singles, and Ryan Goettemoeller and Danny Lins won 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles.

Michael Wesner and Cole Kramer won a junior varsity doubles match 9-7.

On Monday, Lehman blanked Kenton Ridge 5-0.

West won 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 at first singles, Ritze won 6-0, 6-4 at second singles and Elijah Jock won 7-5, 6-1 at third singles.

At first doubles, Goettemoeller and Lins won 6-1, 6-0, and at second doubles, Sean Toner and Elias Bezy won 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) at second doubles.

Wesner and Kramer won a JV doubles match 8-0.

Lehman is 2-1 on the season.
