Sidney City Council

SIDNEY — The Sidney City Council will meet Monday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building. They will be given an update on the Gateway Arts Council.

Council is expected to adopt an ordinance to amend a section of an ordinance regarding the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) surcharge rates for excessive loads from industrial users.

Council is expected to adopt eight resolutions, and they are:

• To authorize the reappointment of Michael Jannides to the Sidney City Tree Board;

• To authorize the reappointment of Kevin Behr to the Sidney Downtown Design Review Board;

• To authorize the city manager to prepare and submit an application to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for funding through the transportation alternative program for the reclamation and restoration of a metal truss bow string bridge system for installation and placement in Tawawa Park;

• To authorize the city manager to submit an application to the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) for funding on behalf of Sidney and Shelby County under a 2017 Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) program grant;

• To accept the March 23, 2017, recommendations from the tax incentive review council regarding enterprise zone agreements, community reinvestment area agreements and tax increment financing agreements;

• To authorize the the consumption and possession of beer and liquor on public property, and to authorize the city manager to enter into a special event use agreement with Sidney Alive, all in connection with the conduct of The Great Sidney Farmer’s Market between May 27 to Oct. 14, 2017;

• To authorize the submittal of a proposal with ODOT division of aviation for paving improvements at the Sidney Municipal Airport;

• To authorize participation in the ODOT winter contract for road salt.

There also will be a discussion on the annual liquor permit renewal.

In addition, council will also hold an executive session for pending or imminent court action and to consider the purchase of property for public purposes.

New Knoxville Board of Education

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Board of Education will meet in regular session at 7 p.m., Monday, April 24, in the media center.

The board will consider personnel employment, donations and a nursing services contract.

North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management Board of Directors

MARYSVILLE — The board of directors of the North Central Ohio Solid Waste Management District will hold its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, April 26, at 9 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Union County Office Building, Commissioner’s hearing room, 233 W. Sixth St., Marysville.

Edison State Community College Board of Trustees

PIQUA — The Edison State Community College Board of Trustees will meet in regular session at the school, 1973 Edison Drive, Piqua, at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 26.

The board will review the school’s mission statement, conflict of interest policy and board commitment policy, consider tuition waivers, the smoke-free workplace policy and the restricting of funding for bond payments, and hear reports.

Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Board of Directors

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Board of Directors will meet in regular session at 8 a.m., Friday, April 28, in Room 3, Level 2, William Green Building, 30 W. Spring St., Columbus.

The board will consider a rebate proposal and recommendations for revisions to the investment policy.
