DAYTON — WDTN-TV and Dayton’s CW have announced the addition of Loni Blandford as news director of 2 NEWS.

Blandford comes to Dayton from Indianapolis, Indiana, where she’s been the managing editor for WISH-TV. Blandford has led the news operation in planning numerous projects, including the 2016 November election and presidential inauguration coverage. Prior to her stint with WISH-TV, Blandford managed the special projects unit for KTNV-TV in Las Vegas, Nevada. In her new role, Blandford will provide strategic direction, leadership and operational management for the 2 NEWS multiplatform newsroom.

“We’re excited to have Loni join the WDTN-TV and Dayton’s CW family,” said Joe Abouzeid, WDTN-TV and WBDT-TV president and general manager. “Her years of experience, as well as her ability to lead a multiplatform newsroom, have us excited for what’s ahead for the 2 NEWS team.”

Blandford will begin her duties as news director for 2 NEWS, June 5.
