Santa’s Helpers Market planned

ANNA — Our Creative Marketplace, a new gift shop in Anna, Ohio, full of a variety of handmade items and over 20 local makers and artists, is hosting its first annual Santa’s Helper Market. The event will allow younger children to shop and wrap gifts “secretly” for family, friends, teachers and loved ones with the help of local Girl Scouts.

Owner Kim Leopold said, “This was one of my favorite things from when I was younger as I loved to shop and wrap my own gifts at the Secret Santa Market in my local school. We don’t have anything like this in Anna so I am excited to host this event so our local children can not only shop for gifts, but also learn the importance of supporting small local businesses at the same time. Plus, this a great opportunity for the Girl Scouts to volunteer this holiday season and they love helping kids.”

So, how does it work?

Children that attend the event will bring a list of who they need to shop for, plus a budgeted amount for each person. The Girl Scouts will then help them pick out the perfect gifts from one of Our Creative Marketplace’s many local makers and make sure they are wrapped and ready to go under the tree – all while the parents or grandparents wait in the waiting area and enjoy free Wifi and coffee.

The event will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The shop will also be open extended hours through the holidays with specials going on in the store for Shop Small weekend Nov. 24-28 for everyone to enjoy.
