SIDNEY — The Shelby County Retired Teachers Association recently chose two scholarship recipients for its annual scholarships in the amount of $500 each. Recipients of this year’s scholarships are Madelyn Koenig and Hailey Kohler.

Koenig is a 2022 graduate of Botkins High School and is currently attending Wright State University-Lake Campus where she will be a junior in the fall. She is an elementary education P-5 major maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She is the daughter of Aaron and Heide Koenig.

Kohler is also a 2022 graduate of Botkins High School and is attending Wright State University and is maintaining a 3.5 GPA. She is majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Michael and Ruth Kohler.

They will be honored at the August luncheon/meeting and presented their scholarships at the time.

The scholarship program is sponsored by retired teachers from the Shelby County school systems. The funds have been collected by donations, sales and memorials.
