MINSTER — Garmann Miller recently welcomed Tim Tarvin to its team of K-12 educational planners. A former teacher and superintendent, Tarvin brings a unique perspective to the multi-service design firm with his extensive background in curriculum delivery and building projects.
He comes to GM after a 39-year career in public education, during which he served as a high school social studies teacher with coaching stints in cross country, wrestling and track. Tarvin progressed through various roles such as middle school principal, high school assistant principal and ultimately, the superintendent of Shelby City Schools for 12 years.
During his tenure as superintendent, Tarvin played a pivotal role in overseeing the construction of key educational facilities. He spearheaded the development of a new high school, a state-of-the-art PK-8 facility and a cutting-edge athletic complex. The complex includes a football/ soccer/track facility, baseball field, softball field and new tennis courts.
“I’m excited to bring my passion for education and experience in overseeing construction projects to Garmann Miller,” said Tarvin. “My focus will be on planning innovative educational environments that foster student learning and lifelong growth.”
Tarvin’s appointment as a K-12 educational planner reinforces the firm’s dedication to providing forward-thinking solutions that positively impact the future of education.
He holds a bachelor’s in secondary education/social studies from Bowling Green State University. He earned a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Dayton and his superintendent’s license from Ashland University.
