ENGLEWOOD — The ninth Holmes, Doyle & Friends gathering will take place on Saturday, March 23, at the Clarion Inn, 10 Rockridge Road, Englewood.

A gathering of those who love Sherlockian, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s writings, and Victorian Britain, the event features a day of talks about these topics by various scholars and experts in the field. This year’s speakers include, for example, actor Davie Harnois explaining how he prepares to portray Holmes in radio dramas, a talk on Arthur Conan Doyle and spiritualism and an overview of Sherlock Holmes games. Various merchants will offer books and Sherlockian objects for sale, and there will be a raffle for baskets containing assortments of tea, books or other objects related to Victorian Britain.

The Agra Treasurers, the local Sherlock Holmes group, is sponsoring the event and will also hold a free welcoming reception at 6 p.m. on Friday in the Hampton Inn, 180 Rockridge Road, Englewood. There will also be closing banquet at 5 p.m. (A lunch is included with the registration.)
