Wilson Hospice receives award for superior performance

SIDNEY — WellSky has awarded Wilson Health Hospice with the 2023 Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Award of Distinction. This award is presented to hospice organizations that have demonstrated superior performance in 2023.

The Hospice CAHPS Honors Award recognizes agencies that continuously provide a positive patient experience and high-quality of care as measured by the patient and caregiver point-of-view. The award acknowledges the highest performing agencies by analyzing their results of the Hospice CAHPS survey, a nationally recognized tool that hospice agencies use to assess and improve patient care and patient and caregiver satisfaction.

“Receiving this honor is a demonstration to the dedication of our entire care team,” said Joann Scott, the director of Wilson Health Hospice. “We are passionate about providing hospice patients and their caregivers with the best possible care experience so they can make the most of every moment together. While this award is very meaningful to us, what motivates us is the difference we make in the lives of our patients and families.”

Based on a comparative analysis of agencies involved in WellSky’s Home Health CAHPS system for the past year, the overall satisfaction or likelihood of recommending survey questions place Wilson Health Hospice in the top 25% of WellSky’s National Home Health CAHPS database.

“Wilson Health Hospice has been providing healthcare for members of our community since 1987,” Scott said. “Our care team works hard to provide hospice care with integrity and that aligns with our core values.”

With nearly 40 years of experience, Wilson Health Hospice provides local nurses, volunteers, chaplains, social workers and support to help care for patients facing end-of-life. For more information on hospice, or to request services, call 937-498-9335 or visit www.wilsonhealth.org.
