A car is towed away by Mantor Auto & Truck Repair after it knocked over a parking meter in front of the Sidney Post Office at around 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10. No one was seriously injured in the one vehicle accident. The Sidney Police and Sidney Fire departments responded to the scene.

SIDNEY — Frederick R. Grieves, 88, of Sidney, was cited with starting and backing vehicles after a one-vehicle crash on April 10 at 9:33 a.m.

Grieves was parked on North Ohio Avenue in front of the post office. He attempted to back out of a parking space but accidentally put the vehicle into drive instead of reverse, causing him to jump the curb, run over a parking meter, strike a concrete trash can and come to rest on the steps of the post office. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.
