Owen Michael Casto, 17, of Piqua, was cited with failure to control after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on April 16 at 8:23 a.m.

Casto was traveling southbound on Miami River Road. He attempted to turn left onto Miami Shelby East Road and went off the roadway to the right, striking a telephone pedestal box.

• Joseph M. Schnippel, 84, of Botkins, was cited with right of way on a public highway after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on April 14 at 7:25 a.m.

Schnippel was pulling out of his driveway onto Botkins Road and pulled out in front of Damien D. Fouts, 24, of Lima, who was traveling westbound on Botkins Road. After the collision, Schnippel spun around and struck a pole. Fouts’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing. Schnippel was taken by Anna EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital with suspected minor injuries.

• Jesse L. Corbitt, 32, of Dayton, was cited with operation without reasonable control after the State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on April 13 at 10:25 p.m.

Corbitt was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a speed limit sign. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

• No one was cited after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on April 13 at 2:23 p.m.

Lucas James Mcalpin, 19, of Greenville, was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 in the left lane and an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound in the right lane. Mcalpin said he was struck by the unknown vehicle, causing him to drive off the left side of the roadway and strike the median cable barrier. The unknown vehicle left the scene.

• Zachary R. Fontaine, 23, of Botkins, was cited with assured clear distance after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on April 13 at 12:30 p.m.

Fontaine was riding a motorcycle behind Amanda Marie Jaynes, 34, of Hamilton, while traveling northbound on County Road 25A when Jaynes began to slow to turn into a private driveway. Fontaine rear-ended Jaynes then overturned, causing him to travel off the right side of the roadway and strike a ditch. Fontaine and his passenger went to Lima Memorial Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

• Josephine Ann Peraino, 64, of Farmington, Michigan, was cited with driving in marked lanes after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on April 11 at 2:29 p.m.

Peraino was traveling southbound on Interstate 75 in the right lane and Lucas William Thomas Jr., 62, of Hamilton, Alabama, was driving a semi-truck traveling southbound in the left lane. Peraino drove into Thomas’s lane, struck Thomas multiple times, then drove off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable barrier. Peraino’s vehicle was towed by Elmer’s Towing.

-1:16 p.m.: vandalism. Deputies responded to vandalism in the 2000 block of Miami River Road.

-1:02 p.m.: gunshot victim. Deputies, CareFlight and EMS personnel responded to a gunshot victim in the 10000 block of Schenk Road.

-8:23 a.m.: crash. Deputies responded to a property damage crash in the 900 block of Miami Shelby East Road.

-7:39 a.m.: crash. Deputies responded to a property damage crash in the 3000 block of state Route 29.

-5:44 a.m.: crash. Personnel responded to a property damage crash in the 8000 block of state Route 274 in Kettlersville.
