JACKSON CENTER — Last year, Nichole Hina was visiting members as part of the ministry of The Temple of Sidney. Around lunchtime she drove to Subway in Jackson Center to stop in for lunch. When she arrived, she was surprised to see it was closed down.

Posted on the door was a sign asking if anybody was interested in acquiring the property to contact Ed Maxwell, village economic development director. Hina seized the opportunity and reached out to Maxwell, who pointed her to the current owner for more information.

After months of hard work, paperwork, cleaning, and learning the business, Hina, along with her husband Mark, became the new owners of the Jackson Center Subway. Their son and daughter-in-law, Cameron and Alex Hina, will be joining them as managers of the Subway.

Subway is set to return on April 24. They hope to be operating the store from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as they look forward to serving the community with subs and fresh products. They are also hiring. If anybody is interested in applying, they encourage you to walk-in and ask for an application.
