Crashes

Dustin Andrew Drill, 25, of Sidney, was cited with disobedience to traffic control devices after a two-vehicle crash on Feb. 19 at 7:22 p.m.

Drill was traveling westbound on West North Street approaching the intersection of North West Avenue and Rebekah A. Rose, 42, of Sidney, was traveling northbound on North West Avenue approaching the intersection. Drill failed to stop at the traffic light and was struck by Rose in the intersection.

Drill’s vehicle was towed by Elmer’s Towing and the vehicle Rose was driving was towed by Wrecker’s Towing. Rose was evaluated by Sidney EMS for possible injuries but was not transported to a medical facility.

• Tennell Aline Mathis-Huehne, 26, of Sidney, was cited with failure to control/weaving after a three-vehicle crash on Feb. 17 at 8:56 p.m.

Mathis-Huehne was traveling southbound on Jon Avenue when she said her dog jumped on her lap causing her to lose control and swerve left, striking two parked cars owned by Marissa Sharpe and Connie Sharpe, of Sidney. Marissa Sharpe’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing.

• No one was cited after a two-vehicle crash on Feb. 16 at 8:21 p.m.

Donald Lee Curl, 67, of Sidney, was traveling southbound on North Vandemark Road negotiating a curve and Pearl Ann Hinkle, 23, of Sidney, was traveling northbound on North Vandemark Road negotiating the same curve. Both parties were in the inner lanes and struck each other head-on. It was snowing at the time of the crash. Hinkle’s vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

• Timothy A. Poling, 36, of Sidney, was cited with failure to control/weaving after a two-vehicle crash on Feb. 16 at 8:02 p.m.

Poling was traveling eastbound on Washington Street. He entered North Main Avenue and struck a parked car owned by Shannon J. Fleming, of Sidney. It was snowing at the time of the crash.

• Jenna Cox, 31, of Sidney, was cited with failure to control/weaving after a one-vehicle crash on Feb. 16 at 7:48 p.m.

Cox was traveling eastbound on Washington Street. She attempted to turn left onto North Main Avenue when she left the roadway and struck a tree. It was snowing at the time of the crash. The vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing.

• Zachary Thomas Shroyer, 30, of Sidney, was cited with failure to control/weaving after a one-vehicle crash on Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Shroyer was traveling northbound on North Vandemark Road when he attempted to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of West Russell Road and was unable to due to snow. He veered off the road to the right while attempting to stop and struck a fire hydrant. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

• Patty L. Wheeler, 49, of Sidney, was cited with failure to control/weaving after a two-vehicle crash on Feb. 16 at 5:56 p.m.

Wheeler was traveling southbound on Broadway Avenue. She attempted to turn right onto Port Jefferson Road and struck a parked car owned by Daniel J. Snider, of Sidney. It was snowing at the time of the crash.

• Ian Welbaum, 37, of Troy, was cited with right of way when turning left after a two-vehicle crash on Feb. 16 at 3:58 p.m.

Welbaum was stopped at the stop sign on Third Avenue preparing to turn left onto Michigan Street. John Wright, 53, of Sidney, was traveling eastbound on Michigan Street. Welbaum pulled into the intersection and struck Wright. Welbaum’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing.
