BOTKINS — The Botkins Board Of Education hired multiple people to assist in the 2024-25 summer season during its April meeting. The summer hires include six members of the custodial department: Brynnan Paul, Lauren Gerstner, Lilly Bayless, Camryn McPheron, Chaise Rigney and Evan Grieves. Gabby Puschel and Maguire Maurer were hired as techs. Brad Bergman was hired as the 2023-24 Youth League Basketball coordinator. Nancy Brown resigned as an aide to enjoy her retirement. This will take effect on May 31, 2024.

The BOE approved four overnight trips for the students. The High School Boys Basketball Camp will be at Findlay on June 27-28. The High School Boys Soccer Camp will be at Ohio Dominion University on July 17-19. The Varsity Volleyball Camp will be at Ceder Point on July 15-17. The Destination Imagination National STEM Competition will be at Kansas City, Missouri, on May 22-25. Lastly, the Ohio FFA Camp will be at Muskingum University, but the date hasn’t been decided upon yet.

Four donations were accepted at the meeting. They include a $300 donation from an anonymous donor to be put towards the Cole Field Fund; Meyer’s Tavern donated $293 to the Track Fund; Greve Farms LTD. donated $1,000 toward the Julius and Dorothy Greve Scholarship; and Josh Meyer donated $2,000 for the Cara Meyer Scholarship.
