Crashes

Christopher Lee Driskel, 17, of Conover, was cited with right of way at a stop sign after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 8 at 8 a.m.

Driskel was traveling westbound on East Miami-Shelby Road. Cristen Lee Fiebiger, 33, of Fletcher, was traveling northbound on Dorsey-Hageman Road. Driskel failed to yield to a stop sign at the intersection and struck Fiebiger, causing Fiebiger to travel off the left side of the road and into a ditch.

• Carl Allen Pingel, 65, of North Branch, Michigan, was cited with turn and stop signals after the State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on March 6 at 5:35 p.m.

Pingel was driving a semi-truck traveling southbound on Interstate 75 in the left lane and Isha Chetan Patel, 22, of Centerville, was in the right lane. Pingel changed lanes and struck Patel.

• Robert Lee Kinghorn, 53, of Sidney, was cited with assured clear distance after deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash on March 4 at 3:21 p.m.

Kinghorn, Emily Larraine Jones, 24, of Sidney, and Rashad I. Reynolds, 42, of Tipp City, were traveling eastbound on Meranda Road. Jones and Reynolds slowed to a stop due to backed-up traffic. Kinghorn rear-ended Jones, who then rear-ended Reynolds.

• No one was cited after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on March 2 at 4:20 a.m.

Matrona Sahlin, 21, of Willard, North Carolina, was traveling northbound on South Main Street in Jackson Center when she said she fell asleep, causing her to drive off the right side of the roadway and strike a telephone pole. Sahlin went back on the roadway and came to rest overturned. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing.

-11:35 a.m.: suspicious vehicle. Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 5000 block of Smith Road in Houston.

-8:15 a.m.: crash. Personnel responded to a property damage crash in the area of Dorsey Hageman Road.
