Annual downtown Easter Egg Hunt planned

SIDNEY — A downtown tradition continues with the Easter Egg Hunt on the square scheduled for Saturday, March 30. The free community event will take place on the courthouse lawn, which will be divided up into the following age groups: 1–2 year olds, 3–5 year olds, 6–8 year olds and 9–11 year olds. These age groups will be clearly marked with large signs around the square.

Cancer prayer service to be held at shrine

MARIA STEIN – The Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics will offer the St. Peregrine Relic for prayer and veneration. Three times per year a prayer service is held for those who are on a journey with cancer, whether it be as a patient or as a caregiver. The next service will be held on Sunday, April 21, at 2 p.m. in the Shrine’s Adoration Chapel. This event is free and open to the public. All who have been affected by cancer are encouraged to attend.

Gateway Arts Council presents The Princess Ball

SIDNEY — On April 12, 2024, in the land of Sidney, Ohio, a truly magical event will unfold. Gateway Arts Council will proudly present their enchanting Princess Ball. The Ball is a father–daughter dance. It is held each spring takes place at Lehman High School, 2400 St. Marys Ave., Sidney, from 7-9 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for a father with one daughter or $20 for a father with more than one daughter.

Fort Loramie wins state championship

Fort Loramie players pose with students after defeating Waterford 42-29 in the Division IV state championship on Saturday at University of Dayton Arena. Coach Carla Siegel and senior guard Jaden Rose talked in the postgame press conference how they appreciated the enthusiasm of the student section and other fans brought in recent tournament games. It’s the program’s second state title in four years and fourth since 2013. Read more on page 1B.
